GRINNING from ear to ear, five-year-old Morgan Light handed over a cheque to charity in memory of her mum.

Morgan joined friends and family in a sponsored cycle ride to raise an impressive £3,800 for the hospital where her mum, Jenny Craigdaillie, was treated.

The money will be a valuable contribution to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital’s Jigsaw Appeal.

Jenny, a popular hairdresser, died a month after being attacked and strangled in her Verwood home by ex-partner Anthony Rose. Morgan was the only witness to the attack.

Jenny’s injuries were complicated by the fact that she suffered from mild platelet disfunction and acquired haemophilia, for which she was being treated at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

Morgan is now being brought up by her grandparents, David and Maggie Craigdaillie, at their home in Ringwood.

The couple, along with family members and friends, joined Jenny’s former colleagues from the Townhouse salon in Ringwood for the ride along Bournemouth promenade.

“We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made it a success, especially Townhouse Hair Salon staff,” said Maggie.

“Our thanks also to the numerous businesses who donated raffle prizes, sponsors who gave so generously and everyone who helped on the day.”

Rose, 40, of Whiteheart Gardens, Ringwood, was jailed for six years after admitting manslaughter when he appeared at Winchester Crown Court in March.
