INVESTIGATIONS are under way after a man fell to his death from the top of a multi-storey car park in Poole.

The 23-year-old man from Wimborne fell from the top of the three-storey Dolphin Shopping Centre car park at around 7.15pm on Tuesday.

The tragic incident happened at the rear of the building near the railway station.

Police were called to the scene by paramedics just before 7.20pm. The man was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to Poole Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. At the time the normally busy shopping centre was closed, and the area is likely to have been very quiet.

The top floor of the car park is surrounded by a 5ft high barrier.

Police are not treating the incident as suspicious, but are investigating on behalf of the coroner, who has been informed.

Officers seized a silver Vauxhall Astra, thought to belong to the 23-year-old, from the top floor of the multi-storey car park.

The man’s family has been informed.
