HOW now brown cow!
Hoofing around a field in North Dorset ended on the horns of a dilemma for this four-day-old calf, who needed rescue teams from across the county to steer him to safety.
Fire crews herd his cries for help and calved their way through thick undergrowth to pull the little chap from the banks of the River Stour amid fears that the current had this cow licked.
The calf had become stuck by a section of the river near Sturminster Newton and needed officers from Poole fire station’s special and animal rescue teams to set him free.
Fire fighters used ropes and farm machinery to re-moove the youngster from the dangers of the fast-flowing river.
Moo-ving scenes saw him reunited his mother, who tenderly forgave the youngster’s silly mis-steak.
