ROADWORKS began in earnest on Poole’s Ashley Road – but had little impact on traffic for most of day one.
The works, confined to a small section at the junction of Becher Road on Monday, June 14, did not impede vehicles going down Ashley Road.
But the route was still heaving thanks to the ongoing closure of Bournemouth Road.
Wessex Water, whose emergency repairs closed Bournemouth Road from the junction with St Osmund’s Road and Pottery Junction since Monday, confirmed Bournemouth Road was set to reopen this afternoon.
But gas mains replacement works on Ashley Road will cause disruption throughout the summer.
Mansfield Road and Victoria Road will close from June 28 when two-way temporary lights will replace the four-way signals on Ashley Road for six weeks.
