FIRE crews tackled a blaze at Corfe Castle’s award-winning Mortons House Hotel in the early hours of this morning. (Jun 7) Crews form Swanage, Wareham, Bere Regis and Westbourne attended after the alarm was raised around 2.30am.
No-one was injured in the fire, but the aerial platform was requested to gain access to the roof of the building.
The cause if the blaze and the extent of the damage is yet to be established.
Mortons House is a 21-bed luxury hotel, converted from a 16th Century manor house.
Among its accolades, in recent years, is the title of Small Hotel of the Year and a Gold Award from VisitBritain.
