We have invited first-time voter, a 20-year-old student, to share her view on the main parties General Elections campaigns. These are solely the views of the blogger and not the Daily Echo.

Two days to go now and I think I know where to put that X. I’m 99% sure I’ve made my mind up.

I’m actually slightly nervous, I don’t really know what to expect when I get to the polling stations. More importantly - what if I make a huge mistake?

So my one, measly, vote isn’t going to be the difference between who will be our Prime Minister, or even Bournemouth East’s MP, but it’s still a vote. And like I’ve said since the beginning – I want to use my one, measly, vote to its full potential.

I’ve read and watched manifestos, hours of news coverage, debates and interviews. I’ve completed numerous ‘Who should I vote for?’ internet surveys. I do believe I’m ready to make a fully educated decision. Or at least I should be – but this doesn’t mean I feel completely ready to make this educated decision. My instincts and heart tell me to go one way, but what if they’re wrong?

I developed a favourite right back towards the beginning of the campaigning. While I’ve tried to remain impartial throughout, that favourite has been in the back of my mind when reading and watching about any party. Of course this has had some influence on my thinking while doing my research – that can’t be helped. I just hope I haven’t missed that huge decider hiding behind my favouritism!

The next 48 hours will be dedicated to making sure that 1% agrees with the rest of me!

But what if your head and your heart don’t agree? Which should you follow?
