Twice in a week! First The Temper Trap fail to stay on stage for more than an hour, and now La Roux is on and off in the blink of a brightly decorated eye.

When hits Quicksand and I’m Not Your Toy are played second and third, there is a whiff that Miss Roux could peak too early.

A La Roux live show doesn’t offer much in the way of production, but to her credit La Roux does attempt to make up for it with some crazy dance moves and puts 100 per cent effort into belting out every tune.

Her adoring fans lapped up every offering from her debut album.

Her cover of the Rolling Stones’ Under My Thumb was a highlight, adding a different dimension to the night’s entertainment.

In For the Kill brought the set to a close, and just 45 minutes after she’d started, the short-haired songstress re-emerged for the encore in a gold jacket and belted out a rousing rendition of Bulletproof.

Granted, she may not have a wealth of material at this point, but surely today’s acts need to put on a show that makes people feel like they are getting value for money.
