Young Enterprise company directors have been experiencing Network meetings, learning from the experts and understanding more about their roles.

On November 19, finance directors from 10 Dorset-based Young Enterprise companies learnt how to manage their company accounts and produce reports.

These budding entrepreneurs will now control the finances for their companies - and who knows may be the next accountants or finance directors for their own future businesses.

Phillip Paige from J.P. Morgan led the session. He’s also the advisor of Young Enterprise company Theta.

He said: “As an advisor to the Young Enterprise Company programme I've been privileged to work with some extremely hard working, enthusiastic and innovative young people.

“Young Enterprise offers a great deal to the participants, both the achievers; who gain a truly valuable insight to the world of business and the advisers; who get a great opportunity to improve and practice their coaching skills.”

The next meeting will be for company secretaries, who will meet and learn from the deputy secretary for Marks and Spencer.

Then the YE managing directors will meet each other and learn skills that will help them lead and motivate their company to success from Extra Dimension business coach Alan Adair on November 25.

There are now 29 Young Enterprise companies involving over 300 young people across Dorset, being advised by a team of over 40 business volunteers.

Nigel Hedges, President of the Bournemouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce is volunteer advisor for EzPz, who meet at Castlepoint.

Nigel said: “My son benefited greatly from the YE scheme and I’m delighted to be in partnership with Castlepoint to run a YE programme for the Bishop of Winchester School and Glenmoor.

“Our company, EzPz, are an enthusiastic and talented group who are getting to grips with the mechanisms of 'real business' already." For more information contact Hannah.towner@yesw.org.uk
