POLICE are still trying to identify a man who was seriously injured in a road traffic collision, so they can contact his next of kin.
The middle aged man is being treated at Southampton neurological unit and was last week said to be in a serious and life threatening condition because of head injuries.
He had been on a pedal cycle that was in collision with a red Nissan Terrano car on the A31 westbound carriageway between Azalia roundabout in Ferndown and Palmerstone roundabout at 5.55pm on Tuesday October 27.
The driver of the vehicle, a 71-year-old man, is not believed to have needed hospital treatment.
A section of the road was partially closed for four and a half hours, so collision investigators and traffic police could examine the scene.
The road was reopened just before 10.30pm.
Witnesses are asked to contact PC Moxam at Ferndown traffic unit on 01202 222222.
