LOVE has conquered all for Rachel and Samuel Richman, who have been reunited in their 90s following three decades apart.

The couple’s romance was rekindled after their daughter Claudia played Cupid and just a year before the couple’s platinum wedding anniversary.

Family and friends joined yesterday at Sunrise Senior Living in Southbourne to toast 91-year-old Rachel’s and 92-year-old Samuel’s on-off romance, 70 years after they tied the knot in London’s East End.

Their other daughter Linda Clapham, from Bedfordshire, told the Daily Echo: “They were married at the beginning of the war.

“Dad was a firefighter who put out blazes during the Blitz.

“He was called up for military service but, because he was such an experienced firefighter, he was sent back home to continue in that role.

“Mum and Dad moved to Plymouth but split up 30 years ago, deciding to go their separate ways.

“Mum set up home in Poole but they never got divorced and Dad continued to support her.

“When my father suffered a leg injury in hospital and there were fears that he wouldn’t be able to walk again we thought it was best for him to move to a care home in Bournemouth where Claudia lives.

“She took Mum to visit Dad in his new home and it all went from there.

“They now spend their days reminiscing on all the memories they share.

"It’s quite romantic really that they have been reunited so late in life.”
