CAPTURING all the vibrant beauty of Dorset’s stunning scenery, it is no wonder that a new Daily Echo-produced book is flying off the shelves already.

Following the success of the best-selling Dorset Coast book last year, Dorset: A Photographic Journey, produced by the Daily Echo and Dorset Echo in association with Sunseeker, went on sale at Borders over the weekend.

Bournemouth Echo: Dorset: A Photographic Journey available at Borders now

And from this week, the captivating hardback book will be available to buy at main and branch offices of the Daily Echo and Dorset Echo, as well as from selected bookshops across the county.

Coveted copies flew off the shelves as staff at the Bournemouth town centre bookshop tried to put the new publication out, suggesting that the 176-page full colour book could be a hit with Christmas shoppers.

The book’s quality mirrors that of last year’s best-seller but with a whole new set of more than 400 stunning pictures set out on landscape A4 pages.

Pictures provide a panorama of the beautiful Dorset scenery, including images of wildlife and people in all weathers and seasons.

Along with images taken by award-winning Echo staff, the book includes a selection of the finest photographs submitted by local photographers.

Daily Echo editor-in-chief Neal Butterworth said: “Just like our Dorset Coast book, an immense amount of work and dedication has gone into Dorset: A Photographic Journey.

“And I am absolutely sure that it will prove to be as popular as its predecessor.

“A great deal of pride is invested in everything we do and this is another example of the professionalism, skill and enthusiasm of our staff.

“I would also like to congratulate our contributors whose excellent photos have been chosen for the book.”

The book, priced at £14.95, is available now.
