THE follow up to the Daily Echo’s best-selling Dorset Coast book has been unveiled at Borders in Bournemouth and is already being snapped up.

Dorset: A Photographic Journey has been produced by the Daily Echo and Dorset Echo in association with Sunseeker and captures the vibrant beauty of the county.

The stunning hardback book is priced £14.95 and makes the ideal Christmas present.

Borders staff sold several copies yesterday even as they tried to put them on the shelves.

Bournemouth Echo: Dorset: A Photographic Journey available at Borders now

And from next week, the full colour, 176-page book will be available at main and branch offices of the Daily Echo and Dorset Echo, and at bookshops across Dorset.

The glossy book has a similar high quality feel to last year’s best selling Dorset Coast but with a whole new set of stunning pictures on landscape A4 pages.

More than 400 images across eight chapters provide a panorama of Dorset’s scenery, wildlife and people, in all weathers and seasons. Alongside pictures taken over months by award-winning Echo staff, the book includes the finest photographs submitted by local photographers.

Daily Echo editor-in-chief Neal Butterworth said: “Just like our Dorset Coast book, an immense amount of work and dedication has gone into Dorset: A Photographic Journey.

“And I am absolutely sure that it will prove to be as popular as its predecessor.

“A great deal of pride is invested in everything we do and this is another example of the professionalism, skill and enthusiasm of our staff.

“I would also like to congratulate our contributors whose excellent photos have been chosen for the book.”

Sunseeker founder and CEO Robert Braithwaite CBE provides the introduction.

Dorset Coast sold out in its initial print run in nine days and was followed by a second run – which also sold out. Bournemouth Borders said it was the fastest selling local book they have ever had.
