WORLDWIDE inquiries have failed to trace the family of a man found dead in a toilet cubicle in Bournemouth.

Coroner’s officer Neil Murdoch has contacted Interpol and the National Missing Persons Bureau in the hope of tracing the next of kin of a man named locally as Charlie Kwan.

It is now eight months since Mr Kwan, a middle-aged man from Indonesia, was found in the toilet at KK Thai restaurant in Christchurch Road, Boscombe. He died of a stroke.

No family members have been traced so a date for his funeral has been set.

“He had friends in the Boscombe area so we wanted to let them know when the funeral is” said Mr Murdoch. “We have done everything we can to look for the family but have not been able to trace them.”

Mr Kwan, possibly from Sumatra, had been staying in a property in Southcote Road around the time of his death on February 19. He was between 50 and 60-years-old with black hair and around 5ft tall.

The funeral will be held on a date to be fixed.
