THE grand final of Talentcall, the amateur contest that searches for a star, is held at the Pavilion Theatre in Bournemouth tomorrow, 7.30pm.

Twenty acts will compete for the £2,500 top prize and help to pursue their musical career, with a £500 runner-up prize.

The acts are made up of the winners from various heats that were held at the Royal Bath Hotel in Bournemouth and two band bash nights held at Mr Kyps in Poole. Judges will cast their votes and the audience will also vote on their favourite acts through text voting, with a trophy for the audience favourite act.

John Lory, a professional comedian and the event’s compere, said: “We are really looking forward to a great night.

“I think it’s going to be sold out. Almost all the seats in the stalls have sold out already. We’ve a variety of acts and they are all first class. It’s an open race. We have no idea who will win because the quality is so high.

“We’ve everything from guitar vocals to keyboard vocals to straight singers, street dancers and theatre dancers.”

The winners will receive their prizes on the night from the sponsor representatives for Domino’s Pizza and John St Quintin Residential.

A sealed bid auction for entertainment memorabilia will also take place on the night, to add to charity money being raised for children’s hospice Julia’s House.
