A nine-year-old girl seriously injured in a collision with a car in Sandy Lane, Upton, is in a critical but stable condition.
The child was crossing the road on her scooter at the junction of Sandy Lane and Blandford Road when she was struck by a red Toyota car being driven by a 25-year-old local woman. The accident happened at around 5.15pm on Thursday evening.
She was rushed to Poole Hospital with head and neck injuries, before being transferred to the paediatric intensive care unit at Southampton General Hospital where she remains with her family at her bedside.
