THE search is on to find Hampshire’s answer to the poet laureate.
Hampshire County Council is launching the competition to find a poet who will receive four paid commissions to commemorate local council projects and activities during the year.
Entrants will need to submit two poems from their portfolio as well as a short personal statement as to what they expect to gain from the experience by Friday, December 11.
Last year’s winner, Alison Olowska from New Milton, said: “I believe that as a Hampshire poet I’ve been truly nurtured and done some nurturing of my own in return.”
Entries should be submitted online at hants.gov.uk/arts service or call 01962 846018.
