THE world’s largest England Football shirt was hung from Bournemouth’s pier yesterday.

The 50ft shirt celebrates England’s qualification for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

It’s on tour to give thousands of fans the chance to write their good luck message to the team on it before it is sent out to the tournament next June.

The shirt was produced by team sponsor Nationwide Building Society and will tour numerous landmarks across the country over the coming months.

Nationwide’s Chris Hull said: “The shirt will then go on a tour of all the Premiership and Football League grounds in England where fans will be able to write their own good luck messages.”

During the club tour, Nationwide is also asking fans to donate their old football shirts which they will then deliver to the children in numerous townships in South Africa during the World Cup.
