THE mother of the two-year-old girl snatched in Egypt will meet with the British Embassy in Cairo tomorrow to appeal for help in finding little A’ishah.

Leila Sabra returned to the country on Friday in a bid to find the missing girl and bring her home.

The tot was bundled into a car while Leila and A’ishah were on holiday in Egypt with the toddler’s grandmother Barbara Maas, who lives and works in Bournemouth.

Leila claims A’ishah was taken by her father, Saber Mesbah Sabra, but he has appeared on national TV denying that he had anything to do with her disappearance and saying he doesn’t know where she is.

Since Leila arrived back in Egypt she has already had a successful meeting with the Secret Police, who claim they know where A’ishah is.

The 32-year-old said: “They have said they will do all they can to help me find A’ishah and I left that meeting feeling really optimistic.”

Leila has also received further support from the cast of Coronation Street. Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw, has started a petition and has signatures from the cast and crew of the soap.

She will hand-deliver it with Dearbhla Molloy, who plays Helen Connor, to Sarah Brown at Number 10 Downing Street, calling for her support.

Sue told the Daily Echo: “No one knows where this little girl is or how she is feeling. She is a British citizen and that is where she should live.

“I am a mother and the thought of something like this happening is just horrific. It is a mother’s worst nightmare and that’s why we are trying to support her.”

Leila added: “I cannot believe the support I am getting. I feel like Britain is really getting behind me and helping me in my fight to get A’ishah back.

“It is fantastic. I was really frightened that when I came back people in Britain would forget about me and A’ishah, but it is far from that.”

Her MP, Ivan Lewis from Bury, has also pledged his support.

His spokesman said: “He has been working very hard with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and their child abduction unit.

“Our office is also trying to look for some financial help that can go to Leila as she is very strapped for cash.”
