MURDER squad detectives are continuing their enquiries into the death of a 26-year-old woman who is believed to have suffered stab wounds and fallen from a second floor window.

Scenes of crime officers erected a tent underneath a blood-spattered second floor window at flats in Wellington Road in Bournemouth.

Police were called to the car park at April Court just after midnight yesterday morning.

They found the badly injured woman, who was immediately rushed to Poole Hospital. She died in the accident and emergency department.

A team of forensic investigators spent the day examining a blood trail that led to the entrance of the block of flats and scoured the surrounding area for anything else that could be of interest.

Neighbour Imelva Esduerra has told how she heard a disturbance just before police arrived.

“I was sleeping and then I heard loud banging” she said. “There was a big crash and lots of screaming, then someone seemed to fall out of the window. “I don’t know exactly what happened and I don’t know the woman.”

Eugene Argana and his wife Lovejoy were in the flat below. He said: “I was sleeping but my wife said there was banging upstairs and screaming. I think it was really scary.”

Another resident, who gave his name as Vilius, said he returned from a night out at 4am to find police at the building. “They had to escort me to my flat but they didn’t tell me much about what had happened” he said.

Dawn Wood lives across the road from where the incident happened. She said: “I heard a scream that woke me up and then some glass breaking but I was too scared to look outside.”

Police said they are still trying to contact the woman’s family. She has not been identified.

“We are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident and want to speak to the woman’s family” said DCI Kevin Connolly, leading the inquiry.

A Home Office pathologist was called in to carry out a forensic post mortem examination at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester.
