CHILDREN are being urged to submit healthy recipe ideas to a competition, organised by Tops Day Nurseries as part of the Wimborne Food Festival.
The 12 winning entries will feature in a free booklet, which will be available at the event on October 24 and 25. Recipes should be e-mailed to recipes@handlandcaregroup.co.uk along with your age and photos of yourself and your dish.
During the two day Festival, Tops and Mini Beasts Wimborne branch will be based at Church House, Wimborne. Children of all ages and their parents can learn how to cook edible magic wands.
Children will also be invited to help create their very own food collage using pasta, rice, lentils and other dried foods and this will be on display in the Tops and Mini Beast festival gallery.
The festival will stage demonstrations, workshops and tutored tastings in an event tent on the Wimborne Minster Green.
There will be fun food sessions for children including diving into a pool of custard, make your own cola fountain, feed giant snails and more.
In the Corn Market there will be a storytelling teepee for all the family.
