My name is Ed Tibbitts and I’m a media student at Bournemouth University, I have a passion for the media and all things related to cycling.

I have experience in the cycling industry, as well as repairing bikes independently.

I would call myself a social and endurance rider who commutes to and from University. I cycle whenever I can find sufficient time. I would like to cycle until people tell me I look too old to be on a bike.

I’m sat writing this whilst watching the greatest cycle event in the world, the Tour de France.

The three week race is such a spectacle of physical endurance, skill and tactics; it really is a pleasure to watch.

I have decided to contribute to this cycling blog and share my modest knowledge with anyone that would like to know more about cycling.

I recognise that I have much more to learn about cycling, but would like to share what I have learnt with others to raise the average cycle awareness in the UK, and ultimately get more people onto a bike.

For me, cycling is a fun and exciting way to keep fit. Cycling for long distances can be very calming and can offer some much needed time to clear your mind.

I regularly ride with friends at the weekend, which is great fun, with much leg pulling and witty discussion.

Cycling is a challenge for both body and mind; taking on large and small distances is always exciting.

I find that pushing your mental and physical limits can improve your overall wellbeing.

For me a good ride is always a boost in confidence. It can always be something to share friends.

I think achieving personal goals are very rewarding, and how high you set your benchmark is entirely your own choice.

Cycling is such an exciting sport; it can take you to places all over the world.

You can ride fast or slow, take part in racing or simply touring, on road or off road.

You can commute day in day out, you can ride with friends in your free time, you can read about its different forms and its history, you may learn different techniques or manoeuvres, you can make money or spend it...
