EVEN before Wednesday night’s amateur dramatics, Didier Drogba would surely have made it into almost every football fan’s Top Ten Most Disliked Footballers.

Well, I’m pleased to announce that Didier has now firmly secured his place at no.1 on my list.

I always find myself getting riled by his behaviour during games but his post-match antics against Barcelona sent my “hate-o-meter” to maximum.

Swearing into a TV camera, attempting to attack a referee... and let’s not forget a previous incident when he threw a coin into the crowd, which seems to have been quickly forgotten.

The worst thing is that when he just concentrates on playing football he’s scarily good.

A dishonourable mention goes to Michael Ballack who, in practically attempting to mount the referee when his handball appeals fell on deaf ears, thrust his way into the upper echelons of my “most disliked” list.

Now contrast the behaviour of those petulant children with the dignified behaviour of their temporary coach.

Guus Hiddink has conducted himself in an exemplary manner since his arrival at Chelsea and that’s why I’m glad he’ll definitely be leaving at the end of the season.

He’s too good to fall into Chelsea’s “we deserve to win everything because we’ve got loads of money” attitude. It was refreshing to see him and Guardiola laughing in the final moments of a tense and important match, when so much was at stake.

While it probably wasn’t the result the match deserved, I do think that Iniesta’s dramatic late goal sealed the result that 90 per cent of those watching wanted.

Barcelona v Man United on May 27 has the potential to be one of the best finals in years. The two best teams from the two best leagues in the world head to head – brilliant!

Given my recent track record with predictions though, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a dour nil-nil.
