STARS of Strictly Come Dancing Flavia Cacace and Vincent Simone took to the dancefloor of a Bournemouth hotel and showed off their moves, then danced with those learning the steps.

The Hotel Piccadilly on Bath Road held the dancing holiday for 60 guests, with a black tie five-course gala banquet and dance cabaret, where participants could also be photographed with the stars and have their photos autographed.

Yesterday during an Argentine tango workshop Vincent – who was runner-up in last year’s series with Rachel Stevens – turned to participants after demonstrating a sequence with Flavia and said: “Are you speechless again?”

A man retorted: “It looks like an awful lot of legs!”

Flavia told the Daily Echo: “It’s lovely to be in Bournemouth. This is a lovely venue with lots of friendly faces. We have lots of people come back here year after year.”

But she said they don’t yet know which celebrity they are dancing with in the next season of Strictly and neither star would be drawn on which had been best or worst to work with.

Vincent said: “Each brought something. One will make you laugh, one will be more keen on technique, every one is different.”

Vincent said the dance floor at the Hotel Piccadilly was the same size as the one they used for the televised shows.

The event was organised by Terri Flett – a ballroom dancer who owns the hotel – and hotel manager Tracy Pettigrew.

Terri said more people were learning to dance, thanks to the popularity of the show. The oldest participant has been 95.

“I don’t think there’s anywhere else you can dance with Flavia. It’s a memory that will stay with you forever.”

Participant Jane Ingram, 60, an office worker from Birmingham, said: “I think it’s absolutely brilliant, the whole set up is lovely.”

Husband Keith added: “We’ll be learning some new steps and techniques that we can add in.”
