POOLE’S revamped £300,000 bus station has been officially opened by town mayor Joyce Lavender.
The 40-year-old station received a much-needed facelift after the Daily Echo called for action last year.
The 12-week project, which started in January, includes a mural of sporting activities covering the canopy over the passenger waiting area, the largest of its kind in the UK.
Resident Simon Shave, said: “overall this is a massive visual improvement. As a wheelchair user, I particularly like the raising of the kerbs which now allow easy access onto the buses and enable me to travel into Poole whenever I want.”
