MATT Ford has issued a stark warning to Belle Vue about Pirates asset Krzysztof Kasprzak – keep your hands off our rider.

The Pole, who first joined Poole Castle Cover in 2003, has only gone out on loan to the Aces this season.

But that didn’t stop the Manchester-based outfit making strong noises in December about wanting to sign the former Grand Prix man on a full transfer.

That got Ford’s back up then, and although he doesn’t want to become involved in any bad feeling with the Aces management, he has made it clear to them “Krzysztof is not for sale.”

Pirates co-promoter added: “Krzys is a Poole rider and if I thought stuff like this was going to happen I would not let him go on loan.

“I’ve taken note of what Belle Vue said but know what KK’s feelings are on this.

“He says he has no intentional of leaving Poole, especially when he has a testimonial due in three years’ time.

“I’m absolutely sure he wouldn’t want to leave Pirates that close to a benefit meeting.”

Ford added: “What people have to understand is that while KK has been very unlucky and unfortunate not to have been given more chances at Poole, people like Bjarne Pedersen, who is 30, and Davey Watt, who is 31, are nearer the end of their careers than the beginning.

“But KK is still only 24 and him and Chris Holder, at 21, are the future of this club.

“I’m always happy to loan out riders, but when I loan a rider I do not expect to read there are negotiations about them going on a permanent move.

“Krzys is definitely not for sale, especially after Belle Vue spoke to me about Antonio Lindback putting in a transfer in 2007, but when he didn’t complete his 12 fixtures they didn’t pursue their interest.

“There was also the situation over getting an offer on the table for Jason Crump, and again this failing to materialise.

“Then I laughably read a member of Belle Vue’s management team had opened negotiations with me to purchase KK.

“I can stress categorically I’ve not spoken to any member of Belle Vue’s management team with respect to them buying KK and nor do I wish to sell him to anyone.

“People have to understand when riders go on loan you don’t try to persuade them to put in transfer requests and leave their parent clubs otherwise the loan system will fall apart.

“As shocked and annoyed as I was at the time, I’ve still not had any call from Belle Vue’s management, so I assume it was just a media publicity stunt.”

All Pirates and Buccaneers riders, meanwhile, are scheduled to take part in press and practice day at Wimborne Road on Monday, March 16.

They will be joined by Poole assets Krzysztof Kasprzak and Antonio Lindback, as well as the World Under-21 champion Emil Sajfutdinov.

The press call begins at 2pm, an hour later than in previous years, and will go ahead in front of media men and season ticket holders only.

Gates open for public admission at 4.30pm so Pirates and Buccaneers fans can watch the practice, with senior world champion Nicki Pedersen, Jason Crump and Hans Andersen having also been invited to take part.

Admission is £1 per person.
