Man, 70s, seriously injured after being hit by car

A MAN in his 70s has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Christchurch.

The Echo previously reported a collision involving a car and a pedestrian happened on Stour Road at 9.08am on Tuesday, June 23.

Police and ambulance crews attended the scene and a road closure was put in place to allow emergency services to respond.

Dorset Police have now said the pedestrian was taken to hospital with "serious injuries".

The force added the vehicle involved a white VW Beetle and are looking to speak to anyone with any information.

Police constable Jack Honnywill, of BCP police, said: "I am appealing for any witnesses to the collision who have not spoken to officers yet to please come forward.

"Also, I am keen to hear from any motorists who may have captured relevant dashcam footage."
