BCP Council is working to address issues with fly-tipping “head on” after reports that problems at a neglected block of flats has resurfaced.
Fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour have resurfaced at 21 Knole Road, which has previously been cleared of waste, boarded up, and secured following joint action by residents, council officers, and Dorset Police after attracting fly-tipping, squatting, and anti-social behaviour.
However, fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour have recently resurfaced at the block of flats.
Ward Councillor Sara Armstrong is urgently calling on BCP Council and partner agencies to take decisive action. Cllr Armstrong previously said: “Enough is enough. Our community deserves safe streets, decent homes, and public authorities with the powers to act.”
Cllr Kieron Wilson, BCP Council cabinet member for housing and regulatory services, said: “We know our residents want to live and work in clean and well-maintained neighbourhoods and that is why we are working to address these issues head-on.
“While this is private land, we take fly-tipping extremely seriously. Protecting our communities and environment is a priority, and we will continue to take robust, targeted enforcement action where necessary.”
