Man in court after allegedly smashing Poole office windows

A MAN who allegedly smashed the windows of an MP’s office and a Jobcentre has been remanded in custody following a court appearance.

Adeel Habib, 34, of Churchill Road in Poole,  was charged with nine charges of criminal damage as well as possession of a "zombie-style knife".

Habib appeared in Poole Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Southampton Magistrates’ Court, on Tuesday, June 16.

The 34-year-old pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of an offensive weapon in a private place and to four counts of criminal damage to property of value under £5,000.

He did not enter a plea to two counts of criminal damage to property of value over £5,000 and three further counts of criminal damage to property of value under £5,000.

He further pleaded not guilty to one count of common assault and did not enter a plea to one count of intentionally or recklessly causing a public nuisance.

He was remanded in custody and is next due to appear for a trial hearing at 10am on Thursday, July 16, in Weymouth Magistrates’ Court.
