A CONCERT has helped raise funds for the RNLI through the support of a family-run solar company.

Save Energy UK sponsored a musical event marking 25 years of RNLI lifeguard services in Poole Bay.

The concert took place at St Ambrose Church in Westbourne.

David Richmond-Coggan BEM, chairman of RNLI East Dorset Lifeguards Fundraisers, said: "One of the highlights of our year of celebrations for the 25th anniversary of RNLI lifeguards on our beaches was a concert at St Ambrose Church, Westbourne kindly arranged by the Dorset Police Male Voice Choir with the Marazion Apollo Male Choir from Cornwall.

"Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the concert by Save Energy UK, all the ticket price and funds raised on the evening are going to support our local RNLI lifeguards in Poole Bay."

The RNLI relies on public donations to fund its lifeguard services and emergency rescues at sea.

Steve Randall, owner of Save Energy UK, said: "The RNLI does an incredible job protecting people on our beaches and at sea, and we're delighted to support such an important local cause.

"As we approach our own 21st anniversary in July, it feels fitting to support an organisation that has spent 25 years helping to keep our coastal communities safe."

Founded in 2005, Save Energy UK has completed more than 5,000 solar and battery installations and will celebrate 21 years in business this July.

The company hopes its anniversary will help raise further support for the RNLI’s work.
