Bournemouth has been named the UK’s fourth most discreet place for romantic connections.

The ranking comes from the latest ranking revealed by Ashley Madison which explores where people across Britain are most actively seeking discreet, low-profile connections this summer to explore their intimate desires and needs.

Bournemouth’s coastal charm and laid-back vibe appear to make it an ideal location for summer dating and romance with an emphasis on privacy.

Salford topped the list, followed by Manchester and Newcastle upon Tyne.

Lucy Beresford, psychotherapist, said: "It’s clear from the range of social and coastal places topping the list that couples love to have a fun social time with their discreet partner.

"Whether it’s bars in Salford or beaches in Bournemouth, having a range of activities available mean the chance for couples to create new memories.

"The summer itself creates a potent cocktail making people feel passionate and frisky: the [scorching] summer sun-on-skin releases feel good hormones, people wear fewer clothes in the heat, and there are generally more events like picnics, barbecues, open air film screenings, and parties to take your discreet partner to."

The trend reflects a growing demand for privacy, flexibility, and personal compatibility in dating.

Christoph Kramer, Europe managing director at Ashley Madison, said: "Modern dating is continuing to evolve, and people are becoming far more honest about wanting relationships that genuinely fit their lives."
