A Dorset cafe with "quirky" interiors has been praised as a hidden gem where the food is always "worth the wait".

Aunt Fanny's Cafe can be found on Cranborne Road in Wimborne, with its focus being on having a retro feel.

The cafe's atmosphere is said to be quite informal, with indoor and outdoor seating at the front and rear.

Its website adds: "Using local producers and our kitchen garden, everything is made to order with a range of home-made, classic British dishes, breakfasts, afternoon teas and snacks."

Aunt Fanny's Cafe is also dog-friendly, and there are a number of local produce items that can be bought to take home.

In terms of its menu, Aunt Fanny's Cafe offers cooked breakfasts, homemade granola and organic porridge.

It also makes its own pies, quiches, sausage rolls and scotch eggs.

Guests can pick from an extensive selection of cakes alongside this.

Sunday roasts can also be enjoyed between October and April.

Discussing the cafe, owners Ness and Russ Tucker shared: "Aunt Fanny's is our heart and soul and every customer who walks through the door becomes part of it, including the dogs!

"We love being part of Wimborne and we and all our team, feel proud to serve such a brilliant community.

"We wanted to create somewhere relaxed, quirky and comfortable, where people can enjoy proper home-cooked food, generous portions and cakes worth making room for.

"Our Friday Pizza Nights with live music have also become something really special to look forward to.

"Quirky interior with loads to take in while waiting for the food and boy was it worth the wait!
