A 75-kilometre cycling challenge is set to take place in the New Forest this month.

Connor Bates will cycle the 75 kilometres on Sunday, May 24, to raise funds for Flourish in Nature, a community interest company supporting adults with additional needs and learning disabilities where Mr Bates is a volunteer.

Mr Bates said: "Paul is an amazing guy because he has brought me a massive amount of confidence in my work life.

"He understands my disability and helps the people I work with to understand my needs."

He has volunteered with Flourish in Nature through its partnership with the New Forest National Park Authority, gaining experience in inclusive conservation work.

He described the volunteering as challenging but rewarding and an opportunity to connect with others and contribute to outdoor projects.

The ride will raise funds for an accessible motorised step for the organisation’s welfare van, which will improve transport safety and accessibility for participants.

Family members including his father, brother, uncles, and family friends will join him on the day.

Flourish in Nature promotes wellbeing through outdoor activities and helps individuals build skills and confidence in nature-based settings.
