A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We are anticipating heightened wildfire conditions in the upcoming days, especially on Wednesday and Thursday, due to strong winds.
"Please help safeguard your community and natural surroundings by avoiding unnecessary outdoor fires, including controlled burns (like bonfires), as they can quickly spiral out of control.
"If you spot a fire in the countryside, report it immediately to the fire and rescue service.
"Early intervention can stop it from escalating into a significant wildfire."
If you spot a fire and need to contact the fire and rescue service, you should move to a safe location, identify the fire's location, dial 999 and meet the emergency services where possible.
A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service added: "If you notice any suspicious activity, report it anonymously to CrimeStoppers at 0800 555 111.
"Your vigilance can make a difference."
