Sainsbury’s has issued an urgent recall for a popular air fryer after warnings it could overheat and catch fire.
The Tower 4L Digital Air Fryer (model T17067) is being recalled due to a potential manufacturing fault that may cause the appliance to overheat and pose a risk of fire.
The affected models were sold in Sainsbury’s stores between January 2022 and April 2023, and shoppers are being urged to stop using the product immediately.
Customers can check whether their appliance is affected by finding the product number 143897281 on the base of the air fryer. Shoppers who think they may have one of the recalled units should visit www.tower-safety.co.uk for full information and return instructions.
A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “We’ve been asked by Tower to alert customers to a product recall affecting certain air fryers produced between January 2022 and April 2023.
“A small number of these products may overheat and pose a potential fire risk. Please stop using the air fryer immediately and check the product code on the base to confirm if your model is affected.
