A MAN has come forward after a cyclist reportedly slapped and slammed a car door into a teenage girl.
Police received the report at 8.25pm on June 24 after the man allegedly assaulted the girl while she was with her mother.
It was said that the woman was pulling out of a driveway in Fernside Road when the girl spotted a bicycle approaching and she told her mother to stop.
The male cyclist stopped to avoid hitting the car but fell off his bike.
As the girl and her mother tried to check if the man was okay he reportedly became abusive towards them.
He slammed the passenger door into the girl’s left shoulder before slapping her in the face.
The teenager alerted a man who was passing by and confronted the cyclist, telling him to leave.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Following an image appeal, a man officers were looking to identify has come forward and is assisting with the investigation.
“No arrests have been made.”
