A DORSET charity is inviting residents to celebrate the opening of its community café.
The Parks Foundation, an environment charity based in BCP, is opening a new community-based café at Alexandra Park in Poole.
The café, located in the park’s old bowls pavilion building, has received a structural refurbishment as well as a new plumbing system, a new kitchen, new toilets, and a facelift to the building.
The café will reveal its new look on July 6.
John Hanson, interim chief executive officer of The Parks Foundation, said “We’re really excited to welcome local people to come and celebrate the opening of this newly refurbished café, which we hope will become a much-used hub for the community, providing a warm and welcoming environment to meet and enjoy the park.
“We hope residents of the area will join us for a day of fun – it’s a great opportunity to come and check out what the café has to offer and find out how you can get involved in this wonderful neighbourhood park.
“The cafes and visitor centre are run almost entirely by volunteers, and The Parks Foundation welcomes all members of the community who are interested to get in touch and find out more.”
