A CHRISTCHURCH man has been ordered to pay compensation after stealing ten lamb steaks from a Marks and Spencer’s.
James Dempsey of Glenville Road pleaded guilty to stealing ten lamb leg steaks, valued at £67.50, from Marks and Spencer, Station Road on June 29.
He also received a 12-month conditional discharge.
Dempsey was remanded in custody and appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court this morning (July 1).
The compensation he must now pay is equivalent to the value of the items he stole.
A Bournemouth man was also charged with multiple shopliftings across Hampshire.
Andrew Lester Smith of Wheaton Road was charged with three counts of theft.
Three incidents of shoplifting took place at Marks and Spencer’s on Station Road in New Milton between June 27 and 29.
The 37-year-old appeared at Southampton Magistrates this morning (July 1).
He was remanded on conditional bail and will next appear at Southampton Magistrates on July 25.
