A POOLE restaurant is set to suddenly close this week in favour of creating more rooms for its neighbouring hotel.

Holes Bay Table Table will shut its doors for good in a bid to build more hotel rooms in the neighbouring Premier Inn.

The decision was made following a consultation by Whitbread, owner of both the restaurant and hotel chain.

The Poole restaurant was one of 112 sites proposed to close across the UK to ‘optimise the company’s food and drink offering’ through more hotel rooms.

It has now been confirmed Holes Bay Table Table will be closing this week on Friday, July 5.

A spokesperson for Whitbread said: “After many years serving the community we can confirm the Holes Bay Table Table is closing its doors on July 5.

“We'd like to take this opportunity to thank the local community for their support over the years and our amazing team members.

“For local restaurant guests, our nearest Table Table is Lynton Court in Bournemouth which is ready to welcome guests.”

It is understood the majority of sites across the UK will remain unaffected by the consultation.
