AN image of a man police would like to speak to has been released after a man tried to steal a 12-year-old’s bike.

At around 7.30pm on Thursday, May 30 the boy was in Whitehayes Road in Burton when a man approached and grabbed up by his upper clothing.

He then attempted to steal his bike, with the victim alerting his father who was nearby.

The suspect then left the scene.

Previously, Dorset Police appealed for witnesses and anyone with any information to come forward.

Now, the county force is renewing its appeal and issuing an image of a man they would like to identify.

Police constable Paul Humber, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I would again urge any witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our enquiries to please contact us.

“I am also now in a position to issue an image of a man we are looking to identify as part of our investigation and would ask anyone who recognises him to get in touch.”
