OVER 100 cannabis plants have been found and seized inside a cannabis factory in Bournemouth Town Centre.

Multiple police vehicles were seen on Old Christchurch Road this morning after reports relating to an ‘unrelated matter’.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “At 9.24am on Friday 7 June 2024 officers carrying out enquiries in connection with an unrelated matter discovered a number of suspected cannabis plants at an address in Beale Place in Bournemouth.

“Officers are currently at the scene carrying out enquiries. No arrests have been made at this time.

"This morning, officers from E Squad attended Old Christchurch Road in the Bournemouth Town Centre, after a cannabis factory was identified.

"Upon entry, approximately 100 plants were located inside the property. All plants and items linked to the cultivation and supply of drugs were seized, and the property was cleared."

This comes after patrols were increased in parts of Bournemouth as part of their 100 Days of Summer programme to crack down on crime and anti-social behaviour.

Police constables and police community support officers (PCSOs) will be visible in key areas of Bournemouth, Poole and Weymouth on a daily basis and will be supported by special constables.

Officers have also been carrying out regular joint patrols with the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) and other designated officers from the two local authorities.
