A VENUE which ‘prides itself on great service and good food’- the Inn in the Park is Pub of The Week.

Located just a stone’s throw away from Branksome Beach, it has been described as a hidden gem.

Although owned by Wadworth Brewery, Maggie Dale and her husband have been proudly running the pub since 2022.

Maggie, who has worked in pubs for 30 years, brought over her love for music and hosted a jazz night every Monday.

She said: “Monday nights are so busy. We have a different band every week, and sometimes it’s jazzy; it can be funky or traditional.”

The Inn in the Park hosts a monthly quiz night, which Maggie says she likes to ‘make a little mad’ with some fun rounds for everyone.

Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and The Blues Brothers are just a few of the tribute acts to take to the stage at the pub.

Maggie and her husband have just invested in a pizza oven and plan to introduce pizza nights in the warm summer evenings.

Maggie said: “I used to be a singer on cruise ships, so this pub is my stage.

“I’m open and chatty, and it comes very easy to me. It’s really nice to get positive feedback from customers.”

The menu at Inn in the Park changes regularly and features traditional pub classics as well as a variety of options for vegans and vegetarians.  All the food is sourced locally where possible.

Maggie said: “We have a fair bit of freedom with our menu and can change it depending on customer needs."

On Sunday, the pub serves a roast dinner, with a choice of beef, pork, ham or chicken - there is, of course, a vegetarian option, all served with seasonal vegetables, roast potatoes and creamed cabbage and a Yorkshire pudding.

The venue is popular for its ales, serving Henry IPA and Wadsworth’s 6X, as well as a selection of craft ales such as Neck Oil and Evolution.

Maggie added: “We are small, but we have a great team that gives our customers the warmest welcome and makes people feel at home.”
