AN ADVENTURE outdoor clothing company will open its first store in the south west in Ringwood.

Páramo Directional Clothing will open the store at 16 Christchurch Road, formerly Ringwood Vanity Rooms.

Owning stores in London, Wadhurst, East Sussex and Keswick in the Lake District, the company has said it is excited to open its first store in the South West.

A spokesperson for Páramo said: "Being able to offer the south region, including Dorset, Wiltshire, Surrey and West Sussex greater access to our outdoor clothing is a real opportunity for Páramo.

"We are really looking forward to welcoming the people in Hampshire to our new brand store and hope that they are keen to discover Páramo and our ethics, innovations, stories and adventures, knowing they will receive expert advice from the Páramo Brand store team."

Planned to open early July, the store will sell technical outdoor clothing with an emphasis on waterproof jackets and trousers as well as water and wind-resistant jackets, fleeces, shirts, and trousers.

The store is named after an area of the Andes Mountains between the top of the forests and the bottom of the snowline in which founder Nick Brown first tested his clothes to their limits in 1986.

Founded by Nick five years later in 1992, who also owns waterproofing company, Nikwax, Paramo has become the choice of several expeditionary workforces, including the British Antarctic Survey.

The spokesperson said: "Páramo Directional Clothing offers award-winning high-performance, sustainable outdoor clothing. Intelligent design combines with directional fabrics to ensure superior comfort and the safety of the wearer across a wide range of weather conditions and throughout a variety of outdoor activities.

"Páramo was the first outdoor company to join the Greenpeace Detox commitment in 2016, eliminating PFC treatments from the entire product range."

Páramo has said it plans to hold a launch party in Ringwood with plans soon to follow.

The company has said all prices can be found on its website which it has advised the public to visit for more information.
