THOUSANDS of food lovers kickstarted their bank holiday weekend with culinary delights and tons of booze at Christchurch Food Festival.
Families, locals and visitors flocked to the Quay and Quomps on Saturday, May 25, to revel in the first day of the Christchurch Food Festival 2024.
The annual event showcases Dorset’s finest food, drinks and entertainment, with live chef demonstrations and a sheep show.
This year’s event will include musical performances from Twynham School Jazz Band, Sound Of Soul, Gary Roberts and Aaron O’Shea.
Amy and James visited the festival with sons, Arlo and Oliver, commenting that the festival has been “lovely.”
Despite being busy, Amy said the children have had a blast with the burgers being particularly popular.
Katie, Julie and Alan enjoyed the festivities with their four-legged friend Luna, adding that they have tried all sorts of foods and drinks, including local gin and biscuits.
“It has been beautiful, with a really beautiful atmosphere,” said Julie.
Tara, Mark and Oli said they have visited the festival “quite a few times” in previous years but Tara has a firm favourite entertainment.
“The sheep show, I love it.
“It is the best part of the Christchurch Food Festival.”
Whereas Mark joked that he was “just here for the beer.”
Christchurch Food Festival will also take place on Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27.
