A FISH and chip shop has been given a RNLI fundraising award for the second year running.

Each year, the Christchurch and Bournemouth RNLI fundraising committee awards a shield to the shop or business whose customers have donated most to the charity.

Sunny’s Fish and Chips in Boscombe has been presented the award for the second year in a row.

Sunny and his team have had the RNLI collecting box on their counter for many years, raising vital funds for the lifesaving charity.

Bournemouth Echo:

The award was presented to Sunny and his team by chairman of the fundraising committee, David Richmond-Coggan, on Monday, May 20 at the shop in Christchurch Road.

A customer passing the presentation said he always gives to the RNLI as a fisherman and hoped that he would not need to call on the charity’s services.

He added that he recalled an incident where the sea conditions had caught him off guard which often happens, with the RNLI always on standby to help in any situation.

The charity wished Sunny a good year ahead and thanked him for keeping the collection box on the counter.

It thanked the shop’s customers for their generosity to the RNLI.
