A MAN has been jailed after a spree of shoplifting offences in the Bournemouth and Poole areas.

Keelan Maidment, 30 and of Wimborne Road in Bournemouth, also committed an assault and court order breaches.

The defendant appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 17, where he admitted to multiple counts of theft from a shop.

Court records show he stole groceries and household items valued at £50.75 from the Co-op in Kinson Road in Bournemouth on November 15, 2023.

He stole meat and laundry tablets valued at £86.17 from Southern Co-op in King John Avenue in Poole on January 17.

Maidment stole laundry products valued at £103.35 from Cost Cutters in Cunningham Crescent in Bournemouth on February 3.

He stole washing powder to the value of £15 from the Co-op in Kinson Road in Bournemouth on November 15, 2023.

He stole coffee and food valued at £25 from Cost Cutters in Cunningham Crescent in Bournemouth on November 13, 2023.

He stole food and drink valued at £25 from Cost Cutters in Cunningham Crescent in Bournemouth on November 6, 2023.

The defendant stole various goods of an unknown value from the Co-op in Kinson Road in Bournemouth on November 9, 2023.

Maidment then admitted to committing a further offence during the operational period of a suspended sentence order made by Dorset Magistrates Court on February 17, 2023, and failing to surrender to custody at Poole Magistrates' Court on January 18.

He also admitted to a charge of assault by beating, having assaulted a man in Kinson Road in Bournemouth on November 15, 2023.

The defendant was jailed for six weeks and ordered to pay compensation of £549.62.
