A CAR fire temporarily closed a busy Bournemouth road.
Firefighters were on the way to a training exercise in Boscombe when they were alerted to a car on fire on St Pauls Road.
The road was closed while the emergency services dealt with the incident on Friday morning, May 17.
The cause of the fire is believed to be an oil leak.
A spokesperson for DWFRS said: “En route to the live fire training exercise off Boscombe Overcliff Drive in Bournemouth, our crew from Salisbury attended a car fire on St Pauls Road caused by an oil leak.
"On arrival, we found one car with a small fire within the engine bay. Firefighters used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and the stop came in at 9:40am."
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “At 9.26am on May 17, we received a report of a vehicle on fire in St Pauls Road in Bournemouth.
“Officers attended with the fire service. The road was temporarily closed and then reopened at around 9.50am. No injuries were reported.”
