TWO men have been arrested after a large police presence was seen at an industrial estate.
The pair have been taken into custody on suspicion of a theft of a motor vehicle, after Hampshire Police was called to a theft in Somerley yesterday, May 9.
Searches are currently taking place at the Sandford Lane industrial estate, with officers from Dorset and Hampshire police forces on the scene.
A specialist search team and a Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue officer were also seen at the industrial estate.
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said: “We were called to a report of a theft in Nea Drive, Somerley, at 3.35pm yesterday (Thursday 9 May).
“Officers have since arrested a 39-year-old man from Bournemouth on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle.
“A 54-year-old man from Dorchester has also been arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle.
“Both men remain in police custody at this time.
“A property search is currently underway at an address in Wareham, Dorset, in connection with the investigation into the incident.”
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "An officer was called to Sandford Lane, Wareham to assist our police colleagues with an incident at 3.09pm but no appliances attended."
