A WOMAN has been sexually assaulted at a Bournemouth public garden.

Police officers and forensics were seen investigating the incident at Skerryvore Gardens in Westbourne.

Two forensics vans and a police car remain at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at around 3.40am on Saturday 13 April 2024 that a woman aged in her 30s had been sexually assaulted in Bournemouth.

“The incident is reported to have occurred between 9.30pm on Friday 12 April and 2am on Saturday 13 April 2024 in Skerryvore Gardens in Alum Chine Road.

“An investigation is underway and detectives are speaking with the victim to provide support and establish the full circumstances of the incident.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area as enquiries are conducted and a cordon is in place to allow for an examination of the scene.

“No arrests have been made.”

The garden is currently closed whilst the investigation is carried out.
