Police have appealed to the public for witnesses and dashcam footage after a motorcyclist was knocked off her bike in a hit and run.

Dorset Police have released an appeal after a motorcyclist was knocked off her bike on April 8 at around 5pm on West Cliff Road's junction with Clarendon Road.

The driver then proceeded to drive off in his car which is believed to be a Vauxhall Astra.

Police Constable Adam Carr, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “An investigation is underway and we would like to hear from any witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, who have not already spoken to police.

“The Vauxhall would have likely sustained front and nearside damage to the bodywork and I would ask anyone who may have seen the vehicle, or have information about its owner, to please come forward.

“If you were driving the vehicle at the time of the collision, please do the right thing and get in touch so we can take your account of what happened.”

The motorbike rider was a woman in her 30s from Bournemouth who was taken to Poole hospital after the incident receiving treatment for serious injury to her leg.
