A CAR crashed onto its roof before the driver fled the scene on foot. 

Emergency services were called to Golf Links Road, near Ferndown Golf Club, on Tuesday night, April 9. 

A Ford was involved in a crash and had flipped on its roof. No other vehicle was involved, according to police. 

A fire engine from Ferndown was sent to winch the car back onto its wheels before the road was cleared about an hour later. 

Dorset Police’s spokeswoman said: “We received a report at 10.24pm on Tuesday 9 April 2024 of a single vehicle collision in Golf Links Road in Ferndown.  

“Officers attended with the fire and ambulance services. It was reported that the driver left the scene and enquiries are ongoing to locate them.  

“The vehicle was recovered and road cleared at around 12.40am on Wednesday 10 April 2024.” 

A spokeswoman for DWFRS said: “We received a call at 10.26pm yesterday evening about a road traffic collision on Golf Links Road, Ferndown.  

“The incident involved a single vehicle, on its roof – no one was trapped so crews assisted with scene safety, using a winch to put the car back on four wheels. Our stop was at 11.35pm.”
